Alles is in de bus, we hebben gezellig ontbeten met Bram en Hidde, dus we kunnen op pad. In Nederland lijkt iedereen onderweg naar familie, de meubelboulevard of een andere attractie. Veel vertraging dus, maar in Belgi\u00eb rijdt het mooi door en zodoende snorren we eind van de middag Frankrijk binnen. We hebben een Camperplek in Reims als doel, mooi dicht bij de binnenstad. Helaas zit er een slagboom voor en is het VVV, waar je de code kunt krijgen al dicht. Camperaars die er al wel staan, willen de code niet geven. Een alternatief vlakbij is bezet door de kermis, dus maar even buiten Reims kijken in het dorpje Rilly la Montagne, dat leeft van de champagne. Daar zou een camperplaats bij een champagneboer moeten zijn. We nemen geen tolwegen, dat betekent dat we een afwisseling hebben van provinciale wegen en snelwegen zonder tol. En heel veel rotondes. We koersen op Riom, een stadje in de Auvergne. De parkeerplaats aan de rand van het centrum is bomvol en toch niet zo geschikt. Vlakbij is de offici\u00eble camperplaats van de gemeente. Prima plek. We zijn de eerste. Het rijdt mooi door over goede wegen. We stoppen even bij het viaduct van Garabit, ontworpen door Eiffel. Hier waren we tien jaar geleden ook al eens. Eind van de middag zijn we in le Barcares. Aan de jachthaven moet een goede camperplaats zijn. Het is er verschrikkelijk. Honderden campers op een kluit. Er staat een jong stel bij de poort die hun kaartje proberen te verkopen. Ze dachten net als wij, dat er een warme douche zou zijn, maar die is er niet. Bedankt voor de waarschuwing, wij keren om. Aan het begin van het pad is nog een camperparkeerplaats. Daar kunnen we mooi staan, aan het water. Na een eenvoudig, maar heel lekker campingdiner, verkennen we met Pieter nog even de omgeving.
