We rijden naar&nbsp;Liep\u00e3ja&nbsp;een redelijk grote havenstad in Letland. We zijn er wel eens eerder geweest, tien jaar geleden stonden we in de buurt. Herkennen alleen het havengebiedje waar eigenlijk nog niet veel is veranderd. We hebben een camperplek bij het strand in gedachten. Als we er aan komen rijden wordt er druk gewerkt aan de opbouw van het Summer festival. Niet dat wij er nu gelijk heen kunnen, het is ergens volgende week. We zijn er net en het begint (weer) te regenen. Gelijk naar het strand, heel mooi breed zandstrand. Anne blijft met Pieter even buiten. Er werkt een aantal vrouwen die allemaal geen enkel woord over de grens spreken.&nbsp;Twee&nbsp;jonge jongens worden door de vrouwen op&nbsp;Netty&nbsp;afgestuurd.&nbsp;Zij&nbsp;moet overal in het&nbsp;museum gaankijken, maar heeft alleen kaartje voor de glastentoonstelling. De jongens kunnen&nbsp;zo mooi hun Engels op&nbsp;haar&nbsp;oefenen. De tuin&nbsp;staat vol met beelden ook nog uit de periode van&nbsp;het communisme. Hoekige beelden maar zeker mooi. We hebben verder geen plannen. Veel mooi gerestaureerde huizen, en Netty maakt vooral foto\u2019s van de deuren. Markt waar de locals hun groenten en fruit verkopen. Het was bijna even of je in Parijs zat. Aantal mooie Street art werken of murals zo worden ze ook wel genoemd.&nbsp;We&nbsp;sluiten af met een Russisch -Orthodoxe kerk. Netty mag een hoofddoekje op en brandt een kaarsje voor de mensen die we liefhadden en hier niet meer bij ons zijn. Helaas elk jaar worden het er meer, maar vergeten doen we ze niet.
