Daar scheelt het wel heel veel tijd. Bij de Spaanse grens zijn er controles waar de Fransen ver van te voren al voor waarschuwen en een omleiding aangeven. Daardoor draaien we precies voorbij de grens de snelweg weer op en omzeilen de file. Het wordt hier later donker dan in Nederland en we hopen nog net met licht de camperplek in Vittoria-Gasteiz te bereiken. Dat lukt net niet. Het is een mooie gratis plek waar je een app voor moet downloaden en het werkt, de slagboom herkent ons kenteken en laat ons binnen. Gasteiz is de Baskische naam en Vittoria de Spaanse van deze hoofdstad van Baskenland. Rondom de camperplek zijn winkels, kroegjes en restaurantjes. Wij eten in een kruising tussen kroeg en restaurant met op grote schermen voetbal. De volgende morgen voelt Netty zich niet erg lekker. Toch maar rijden en onderweg knapt het langzaam op. We rijden door het uitgestrekte platteland van midden Spanje. Rustig en ruig en prima vierbaans wegen. Aan het eind van de middag komen we bij licht aan in C\u00e1ceras, waar we een camping nemen. Iedere plek blijkt eigen sanitair te hebben en zo hebben we zomaar onze eigen douche en wc. De plaatselijke schilderes heeft van meerdere huisjes iets creatiefs gemaakt. Het maakt je vrolijk. We hoeven niet zo ver meer naar Algeciras en hebben alleen wat oponthoud in Sevilla, verder rijdt het mooi door. In Algeciras parkeren we tussen de ander Marokkogangers. We kopen onze kaartjes voor de boot bij Carlos en krijgen het traditionele geschenk, een cake en een fles wijn. Bij de Lidl halen we wijn en bier en dan zijn we helemaal klaar voor de oversteek. Nog een rustig nachtje in Spanje en dan op naar Marokko. Het weer is hier al heel mooi, zeker een graadje of 19.
